  • What design choices did you have along the way, and why did you make the choices you made?
  • What was the most difficult part of the project? Why was it difficult? How did you overcome the difficulties?
  • Did you discover anything novel? What did you learn?
  • Set the scene and problem statement/specification. Provide the motivation for reading this report. Introduce the structure of report (what you will cover in which chapters).
2.2. Background
  • What the reader needs to know in order to understand the rest of the report; background research and what else has been done in the field (include references where relevant)
  • Related work (if any) and how the project relates to other work in this area
2.3. Analysis and Design
  • How requirements are collected and feasibility analysis of the project
  • High-level overview of the system design; differences between initial and final design, and reasons for changes made
  • Description of which parts were implemented and which were not implemented, with reasons if interesting

This course allows students to expand their programming knowledge and work on significant projects of their choice. Students identify their chosen project area and are allocated a supervisor responsible for providing support and guidance. Lessons on software development processes, project design and management assist in completing the projects and advancing programming skills. There is no set syllabus.
Experienced and empowered in undertaking significant project work in a self-disciplined, organized, and professional manner from conception to documentation; skilled in analyzing, designing and developing meaningful and efficient real world applications.
Students work individually with support from their project supervisor. They are responsible for organizing themselves and their work, meeting with their supervisor on a regular basis as agreed. The final project report must be submitted within 1 week after finishing the final examination.
