1.1. Internship Requirements
- Work relevant to computer science and information technology
- Design and development of software, hardware, network services, database systems
- Minimum 180 hours or ten weeks duration
- Start tentatively by 3rd week of eighth semester
1.2. Host Organizations
- Software/hardware development companies
- Telecommunications companies
- Network and internet service providers
- Financial organizations
- Health organizations
1.3. Student Responsibilities
- Individual activity - timely completion of assignments
- Maintain professional quality
- Facilitated with mentor at organization and supervisor at college
- Inform status to mentor and supervisor
- Communicate frequently on progress
- Prepare and submit individual internship report
- Distinguish work if working in group at same organization
2.1. Proposal Submission
- Submit and present internship proposal plan after 2nd week of start
2.2. Mid-Term Submission
- Submit progress report in 11th week of eighth semester
- Defend midterm progress
2.3. Final Submission
- Submit and defend during last week of eighth semester
- Final defense followed by viva voice
- Conducted by evaluation committee
- Submit final report 10 days before defense
- Make report available to external examiner a week before presentation
3.1. Supervisor Requirements and Roles
- Regular faculty member of college assigned as supervisor
- Supervise students throughout internship period
- Supervise at most four internship students per section
4.1. Mentor Requirements and Roles
- Regular employee of intern providing organization assigned as mentor
- Guide students throughout internship period at organization
5.1. Evaluation Phases
- Proposal Defense - 5% (5 Head + 5 Supervisor)
- Midterm - 15% (5 Head + 25 Supervisor)
- Final Defense - 80% (100 Mentor + 20 Supervisor + 40 External)
5.2. Evaluation Committee and Marks Distribution
- Head/Program Coordinator – 10 marks
- Supervisor – 50 marks
- Mentor – 100 marks
- External Examiner – 40 marks
- Total – 200 marks
